Tailored for students who currently read at approximately a 1st grade reading level, this course builds upon foundational phonics knowledge to enhance reading proficiency. Through engaging activities, games, and targeted lessons, students will flourish in their reading abilities.
Key skills covered include mastering multi-letter phonograms including ch, ee, er, wh, oi, oy, ai, ay, ng, ar, or, ow, ou, tch, ough, ea, oa, ir, ur, ear, oo, kn, ph, igh, reading two-syllable words with long and short vowel sounds, decoding words with soft C or G, expanding sight word recognition, and reading simple sentences with demonstrated comprehenion.
